It is so lovely to be home back in the Blue Mountains to hear the birds – I soo missed the birds and to catch up with old friends and family – lockdown hasn’t been too bad at all. It has given me the opportunity to read books I have always wanted to read and to spend time observing nature. I have got to know bird calls and noticed things that I have never noticed before, like the currawongs and magpies increasing in number over spring in the upper mountains, the sweet tune of the crimson rosella and crackles of the gang gangs. I have walked and walked through the forests over the weeks, feeling so privileged to live in this beautiful National Park.
