Alison Winn came to the Feldenkrais method more than 20 years ago, when she herself had debilitating chronic back pain and trained and graduated as a Certified Practitioner at the Melbourne II Training in 2002. Now she helps all types of people including children with special needs and learning difficulties, adults with pain, people with neurological issues, seniors who want to improve flexibility and balance, as well as everyday people just wanting to revitalise their lives.
Alison has a strong science background, graduating from Sydney University with a Science degree and Masters in 1992. A trained and experienced teacher, at both primary and secondary level, with additional training in Steiner education, Alison has much experience in working with children, both as a teacher and as a Feldenkrais practitioner. In 2014 and 2015, she trained with Anat Baniel in the United States. Overcoming old pain patterns happened initially through Feldenkrais, meditation and reading J.D Sarno’s book ‘Healing Back Pain.’ Other therapies including the Lightning Process has also helped her to overcome reocurring pain. These experiences have made her passionate about helping others overcome pain.
